Ricefields at Palawan, Philippines
I love rice fields so everywhere I go, I also take photos of the amazing landscapes. I always want to eat the native rice which usually tastes better than the commercially available rice. This photo was taken during my travel in Palawan, Philippines.

Wild Flower at Palawan, Philippines

Sorry, I don't know the name of this flower so I just put wild flower. It was taken at the Southern part of Palawan in the town of Bataraza around 236 km south of Puerto Princesa (Capital of the Province). It is also in Bataraza where you can find Rio tuba, a baranggay which is known for its nickel mineral reserves. During that time we are supposed to go to Balabac Island, but unfortunately there was a typhoon so the coast guards did not allow the boats to travel. Balabac is the Southernmost island of Palawan and it is already very near in Malaysia and some people can laready speak malay from that place. One of its most famous tourist attraction is the Melville Lighthouse, someday I may have a chance to visit...Posted by Lavern at 8:53 PM 1 comments

Snake Island, Palawan, Philippines

This was taken during my travel at Snake Island, Palawan, Philippines. It is called snake island not because there are many snakes in the beach but because of its long shore line beach resembling the form of a snake. This is very obvious if you will view it from the sky. Unfortunately, I don't have a helicopter so couldn't take an aerial shot! You can visit snake island if you will hire a boat at Honda Bay for an incredible island hoping experience...

Iwahig Penal Colony, Palawan, Philippines

This is Iwahig Penal Colony at Palawan, Philippines. Here convicted people (but not all those convicted are guility!) are not put in prison, instead they are given tasks and responsibilities such as farming, making handicrafts, and other things in the form of services. It is a good idea because here prisoners can be very productive and they generate income out of their labor.

Starfish Island, Palawan, Philippines

This picture was taken at Starfish Island in Palawan, Philippines. Guess why they called it starfish island? I think they have an entrance fee but very minimal around 30 pesos. If you will have an island hoping experience at Honda Bay, it is closer to snake island which I will post later on... Have any idea why they called it snake island?
