How to plant rice?

There are 2 methods of planting rice; broadcasting or
direct seeding and transplanting.

In both methods, farmers usually used threshed rice and
scatter them in the previously prepared field.

However in Mt. Province, they plant the panicle (unthreshed rice)
directly in the farm.

I am not sure whether they will allow it to grow as is
or to be transplanted after a few days.

But based on this photo, I think they will transplant it
because of the vacant fields.

Traditional way of preparing the land using a carabao.

Another way is using a manual hoe...

These photos were taken in Maligcong, Bontoc, Mt. Province.
