This is Bonbon Island in Borongan (Capital), Eastern Samar, Philippines. To reach there you will need to rent a boat, with about 30 minutes ride from the town proper to the island. The island is just small and you can see a fine white sand and a lot of shells around, probably because it is not yet commercialized. They also have a fish sanctuary where fishing is not allowed, this is to protect their rich marine and aquatic resources.
I would love to visit this place when I take my next trip to the P.I. I wish I could take my Sevylor and go fishing there. That would be awesome but since fishing isn't allowed to protect their marine I can just go to enjoy the scenery.
ReplyDeleteHi - I think it is actually "Monbon" or Moon Island. I went there once, I've visited Borongan 3 times and can't wait to return!
ReplyDeleteThere's a few examples of hiking around Borongan here - my travel blog for Eastern Samar. Hope you like :-)
